Have you created an intention for how your day will go and for what you truly feel is important… most important in a day?
By Michelle Ghilotti
I have – I continue to – and I’m finally feeling like I’m working smarter not harder.
It’s been a while that I last wrote to you but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been thinking about you or everything that goes into what we all do on a regular basis to keep ourselves and our kids alive (ha ha). In fact, I’ve been doing exactly what you’ve all been doing; parenting, working which includes writing my book and unfortunately dealing with health issues still that are preventing me from moving as fast as I’d like. By the way, did you get the memo that “old” starts at 37? I didn’t.
Anyway, trying to keep humor is one huge intention as is making sure that I keep over-sized 3M post-its all over my walls to write my intention(s) for the day.
My most recent and reasonable mission as it pertains to the writing of my book how to be a walking Momtra (for more info check out my site) as well as writing the Parenting Series albeit short is to write more often. A little in parenting may not go a long way but it definitely does the trick when writing, it really does. Especially if its something useful yet inspiring like I hope this is.
Have you ever written down your intention or Momtra and carried it in your wallet?
That’s your next task. We all know the work-life-family balance is a crazy one but focusing on what you really want really does shift things for the better. In my opinion even slight shifts are cause for fiesta. My mission is to constantly be improving my family life and Momtras are definitely one way I do that.
I easily make time for genuine listening during dinner, five minutes for laying with my child before bed every night and I consistently bring in more peace in my life so I can grow closer to those most important to me.
Type & cut it up something like this:
I easily make time for genuine talk
during dinner, five minutes for
laying with my child before bed
and consistently bring in more peace
in my life so I can grow closer to
those most important to me.
Print.
Fold.
Place in wallet or in side pocket of your hand or work bag.
Read it once a day in the morning. Call it setting yourself up for success and giving yourself a smile before heading off your separate ways.
The fun part of folding it back up and putting it in your wallet is that you’ll get random glances during diaper, banana, goldfish or bottle of wine-buying.
How to be a walking Momtra: Use reminders. Think about what you want to have versus what you don’t want to have…
Enjoy yourself. Namaste.
