We enter December this year with several deeply disturbing upheavals in the world having just occurred. The temperament on the planet is somber, fearful, and divided. The Saturn/Neptune Square on November 25th is the first of three, the other two will be in June and September next year. All of 2016 will be under this shadow. Neptune rules faith, Saturn rules fear. The Square (conflict) between these two giants is forcing each of us to choose how we will live. We cannot change the minds of our enemies but we can change our own. Living in faith does not mean being bound to some sense of moral righteousness. But it does mean “tuning in’ to the higher, more inclusive and generous feelings in our own nature. With the North Node of the Moon (dharma) and Jupiter (higher thought) in Virgo (sign of discrimination), living a life based on higher values requires some analysis and not just believing that everything will be alright. Uranus Square Pluto, and it’s recurring revolutionary upheaval, is still quite active even though it is well past exact. To make the world a more loving place, we must find this within ourselves first.
The New Moon occurs on December 11th at 5:29 AM EST on the 19th degree of Sagittarius. With Mars (god of war) opposite Uranus (lord of revolution) and both in harmonious aspect to the New Moon, we are required to try something new. We have a chance to start over, to revitalize our lives. Jupiter (ruler of Sagittarius) is in Square to the New Moon showing us a way out of the present difficulties. We need to rely on what we know in our hearts to be true. Pluto (lord of the underworld) Squares both Mars and Uranus intensifying the propensity for violence. This next month will require hard work to establish stability in the midst of turbulent change. Mercury (messenger of the gods) is in Capricorn (sign of practical achievement) Sextiling both Venus (goddess of love) and Neptune (lord of culture); common sense and looking always for a higher path can spark our creativity. This whole month will require action based on careful analysis to bring about a positive outcome, but the force of the cosmic good is with us.
The Sun moves into Capricorn on December 21st at 11:47 PM EST. This is the winter solstice showing events in the world for the next three months. As you can guess there is much turbulence globally over the next 90 days. However, the Moon is in Taurus and Trine to Jupiter (higher wisdom) in Virgo and to Mercury (reason) Conjunct Pluto (transformation) in Capricorn. These are the three earth signs which are practical, thorough, and materially oriented. This shows that we will be taking basic steps to correct our current situation and that help is available when we ask.
The Full Moon is on December 25th at 6:11 AM EST on the 3rd degree of Capricorn/Cancer. The most interesting feature of this chart is Mercury in Trine to Jupiter, Square Mars, and Sextile Venus. The Full Moon is always a time of completion and letting go. The Sun and Moon opposing each other presents us with choices. We have an opportunity now to quickly attach ourselves to our higher truth. If we operate in great haste it is imperative that we really know what we are doing; our intuition and not our impulses should guide us. It is very possible to get on the right path now. Measured, practical steps are more useful than bold jumps.
