Adventure and happiness seekers, yoga lovers, and hiking enthusiasts join us in August for the Yogi Magee Expeditions Telluride Yoga + Hiking Retreat. This August 12-16, 2015, join retreat leader Natalie Magee, at the beautiful Viking Lodge in Telluride, Colorado, transform your life, your body, and elevate your spirit.

This year’s retreat has been extended by a day to allow more time in one of the most beautiful mountain escapes in Colorado. Elevate your yoga practice and explore the most pristine hidden lakes and waterfalls. Telluride sits in a box canyon, and it is surrounded by steep forested mountains and cliffs and is a former silver mining camp on the San Miguel River. Telluride is home to Colorado’s tallest free-falling waterfall at 365 feet which you’ll see up close and personal on one of our selected hikes. The nearest stoplight is 45 minutes away and you can walk or take the free galloping goose bus most anywhere you please in town.
Get ready to elevate!
Combine your yoga practice with adventure. During the retreat, you’ll have the opportunity to meditate in the wilderness, enjoy yoga, to start and end your day, soak in the on-site salt water hot tub, explore the farmer’s market and mushroom festival, shop, dine, and travel off the beaten path, check out the wildflowers, waterfalls, alpine lakes and San Juan mountain views. On this retreat expect at least two hikes planned with varying lengths and a moderate difficulty. No experience hiking is needed, although it’s best if you have stamina to hike at least 7 miles. Really all you need to bring is a willingness to seek out adventure and discover yourself along the way. Natalie has lived in Colorado for 10 years and hiked 36 of Colorado’s 58 14,000+ foot peaks, and she is accustomed to all levels of terrain and altitude. And, she has guided many friends and fellow yogis along the way so she always has the group’s best interest in mind when planning the retreat’s expeditions.
New this year is the addition of the option for personal excursions. Last year, several of the retreat goers arrived early to hike the Via Ferrata with Natalie through the San Juan Mountain Guides. The Via Ferrata means “way of the iron,” and it’s unique to Telluride. If you can climb a ladder, you can complete the Via Ferrata and all the equipment you need plus lunch and photos are provided by the San Juan Mountain Guides. If scaling mountains isn’t your idea of fun, you have the option to rent a bicycle and tour the valley floor, check out the Annual Mushroom Festival, shop, plan a spa day, rent a mountain bike and go up a mountain, or simply relax at the Viking Lodge. This is your retreat and your time to reconnect and rejuvenate.
Joining us again will be Natalie’s assistant and fellow yoga teacher, Stephanie. She will be in charge of taking photos at the retreat to capture the fun in your journey, ensuring our group is safe hiking as well as doing the little things like having your coffee and breakfast treats ready in the morning after yoga. With a group this size the hikes usually end up split into a faster and slower group, and Stephanie is there to help those that may require extra attention.
