Midway through my 30 Day Workout Challenge I’ve Already Noticed a Big Difference…
Today marks the 18th day of my 30 Day Workout Challenge. In case you missed it, here is why I made this pledge AND
here is what I have learned thus far:
1)Waking up early to work out still sucks. But it does energize me and gives me a sense of fulfillment.
2)I kind of miss working out on my restorative rehab and/or lighter days, but not so much that I don’t still need/take a rest day.
3)Muscle memory is a real thing, and the re-emergence of my abs is proof of it.
4)I’m setting an awesome example for my kids, who now are trying to jump rope and swing kettle bells. The Dude (my baby boy) even tries to make his own kettle bells out of tinker toys!
5)I didn’t think anyone would really care I’m doing this, but the response on Facebook and Twitter has been all sorts of awesome.
6) I’m happier when I work out. I’m finding those days where I feel like I’m standing under a wave of sadness are becoming fewer and fewer.
7) Oddly enough, I’m not as hungry. And my cravings are massively diminished. I’m satisfied with my basic meals and don’t find myself craving sugar and my nemesis, chocolate
8)I feel more confident in my looks, in my clothing, and with my husband.
9) There is no longer such a thing as “I can’t find the time” because even on my busiest days, I am still able to find 10 minutes. Even if it’s right before bed. Because nothing says “bedtime” like tight abs.
10) I feel stronger than ever before. And I am seriously contemplating becoming a super hero. Just need to come up with a good moniker.

Who wears short shorts? I do, now.

Perhaps it’s presumptuous to write this post now. I still have 13 days left on my challenge; things could really go downhill. But based on how I’m doing thus far, I don’t think they will. I can’t say for sure if I will continue this daily regime after this month. But I can say that I will strive to move somehow, someway at least 3-4 days a week. The benefits have just been so great, and I can’t see the downside of it. My back is significantly better, and while my toe still hurts, it’s probably because I can’t seem to find the time to see my favorite Chiropractor. Hmmm, maybe that should be my next challenge.
If you want to join the challenge, you still can. Find me on Facebook or Twitter and let me know how you moved each day. I’d love to hear from you. And of course, if you have a good Superhero name for me, I’d love to know it.
